How to treat Sunburnt skin care

We previously had a look at skin care for dry, combination and oily skin, but a special discussion of sunburnt skin care is required.

Symptoms

Sunburns are never good news. Not only do they leave you red-faced and stinging, but they often leave lasting damage. Sun poisoning may seem much more serious, but it’s essentially the same thing. In medical terms, sun poisoning and sunburn are both referred to as photodermatitis, your skin’s allergic reaction to overexposure to the sun.

In the case of sun poisoning, however, the reaction is a bit more severe and the symptoms may become seriously uncomfortable. A typical sunburn involves itching, redness, and peeling. Severe sunburns may also be accompanied by small blisters that may lead to infection. Symptoms of sun poisoning also tend to include nausea, fever, headache, and dizziness and may also be accompanied by fluid loss and electrolyte imbalance.

If your symptoms are limited to mild discomfort, treat your skin the way you would treat any sunburn. Stay hydrated, apply ice or cold compresses to reduce swelling or itching. Apply aloe if it helps and keep out of the sun. Try taking beta-carotene supplements as they’ve been shown to ease inflammation. Avoid using oils, salvery (butter is the worst) or anything that contains potential irritants such as fragrances and exfoliants.

Treatments:
Aloe: Take as many leaves as necessary from an aloe plant; refrigerate; peel off top layer of leaves; apply the side of the leaf with flesh exposed directly to the sunburn. Other remedies use aloe vera juice: for mild to medium sunburn, keep the affected area moist with aloe vera juice. Repeat frequently. This will reduce the pain and the amount of peeling. Aloe vera ointment works well, too, as it contains oil and will not evaporate. For a severe sunburn, keep the area moist at all times with aloe vera juice. Since aloe vera is an astringent, you may want to use aloe vera ointment or some sort of oil, such as olive or baby. Aloe is very effective in relieving pain and inflammation.

* Combine aloe juice with ½ the amount of vitamin E. Dab on the sunburn. Vitamin E is a good moisturizer.

Aloe Vera Gel

For sunburn there is nothing better than aloe vera gel; it is
antibacterial and deeply healing for burns in part because of
aloectin B, which stimulates the immune system. Aloe vera gel
is used in hospitals for burn victims. Aloe Vera comes from the
aloe vera plant, and the gel may be squeezed from its leaves, or
you can buy pure aloe vera gel as a product in most health food
stores.

Vitamin E Cream
One of the antioxidants, vitamin E creams, ointments and oils,
can help heal sunburn damage and shorten its effects.

Increase Your Vitamin C
Another antioxidant, increasing your vitamin C intake while sunburned
will help you heal.

Black Tea Sunburn Soother

The tannins in cool black tea will help sooth a sunburn.

Baking Soda Bath
Have a cool bath to which 1/2 a cup of baking soda has been added.

Calendula Creams
Calendula is one of the most healing plants. The flowers are
emollient, antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, antifungal, and
antiviral. They are immune system stimulants and rich in
carotenoids. Look in your health food store for calendula creams
and ointments.

On the other hand, if the burn is more painful or you exhibit any of the systemic symptoms listed above, step up your efforts to cool down and hydrate. Drink plenty of fluids and take a bath in cool (not cold) water. Pat skin dry-don’t rub-and stay in a cool environment until your symptoms ease.

At any point, if you suffer from extreme pain or vomiting or if your fever grows too hot (over 104 degrees Fahrenheit), head to an emergency room. In more serious cases, a doctor can prescribe an oral steroid to reduce inflammation or administer IV fluids to restore hydration.

Prevention

Prevention is the best remedy here, if you can. Long-term results from excessive exposure to the sun, such as skin cancer and wrinkled skin, can be avoided with proper precautions. One of the best preventatives is to use a sunscreen with an SPF of 30 that offers protection against both UVA and UVB rays. You can get as much sun sightseeing as baking at the beach, so use sunscreen whenever you are outdoors.

Use an aloe vera lotion containing a sunblock. This will cut out 90% of the burning rays and allow 75% of the tanning rays to reach the skin.

To speed healing take the following supplements for a few days after getting burned: 1,000 mg of vitamin C, 400 I.U. of vitamin E, 15 mg of beta carotene, and 1-2 tablespoons (or about 3 capsules per teaspoon) of flaxseed oil, an essential fatty acid.

Skin Care Routine with Pore Deep Cleansing

Deep Cleansing

The basic of healthy skin relies on hygiene. Although most women wear makeup, many of them are negligent in cleansing. This negligence causes breakouts, skin dryness and other skin problems. It is not enough to just know how important cleansing is. We should take an action to care for our skin applying right cleansing methods. The basic is to start off with an easy deep cleansing.

General cleansing removes makeup leftover, wastes and sebum, but it cannot eliminate accumulated keratin (dead skins).

Deep cleansing means to remove impurities deep inside your pores that cannot be removed through general cleansing. Our skin is consisted of several thin layers. Stratum Corneum, the most outer layer of our skin, lose its vitality due to keratin and makes our skin look dull. In addition, It draws moisture from our skin and accelerates skin aging and makes our skin rough. I would recommend you to do deep cleansing once every week.

Proper Cleansing Techniques

The first step for a proper pore deep cleansing is to choose right products for you. Depending on your skin type and makeup level, product choice should differ. If your skin is dry or your makeup level is high, cream type cleansing products are recommended for you. On the other hand, if your skin is oily or if you wear natural look makeup, liquid or tissue type cleansing products should be good. If your skin is very sensitive or acne prone, oil-free water type or tissue cleansing products are recommended. However, it is not mandatory to follow these recommendations. Based on your changing skin type, you should adjust your product choice.

Even when you do not wear makeup, if you were out and came back home, you should still cleanse your face before washing in order to remove wastes and to maintain clean skin. When massaging your face with cleansing product, do not massage aggressively or massage too long. This may allow makeup leftovers and wastes attached to cleansing material to enter your pores back again. 2-3 minutes should be sufficient with gentle massage. Don't forget to rub around back of your earlobes, chin areas, front earlobes and the edge of your forehead. When washing your face, apply a foam cleanser after making enough foams on your palm in order to minimize irritation to your skin and gently apply.

Pack

Functions of pack include the following:

  • deep cleansing (removes wastes, accumulated keratin)
  • by temporarily blocking from outer atmosphere, provides active ingredients to your skin
  • promotes blood circulation
  • nutritional packs, cleansing packs, moisturizing packs available
  • Wash off, peel off, tissue type packs available

Tips: If your skin is very dry, apply a skin toner and lotion before applying packs to protect you skin.

How to use Packs to maximize effects

Each pack type has different effects. To remove keratin and reduce sebum that makes your skin extra shiny, use cleansing packs. If you have excessive oil, peel off type is recommended. Wash off type has rich nutrition and less irritation so it's good for dry skin. Sheet type facial mask is recommend for all skin types as it contains high concentration of nutrition, moisture and provides cleansing, soothing, calming and hydrating effects to your skin. 2 times a week is the best for all skin types. Alternatively, homemade facial packs can improve your skin condition.

Tips: If your skin is very dry, apply enough toner and moisturizer before applying packs. Facial mask sheets can be directly applied without toner or moisturizer because they themselves function as intense moisturizer.

Massage

Massage promotes blood circulation and metabolism. If your skin lost vitality and looks dull, massage can recover your skin shortly after. After using a facial mask sheet, you can gently pat or press your face using remaining essence on your face. Do not vigorously rub your face as it can contribute to fine lines and wrinkles.

Skin Care for Different Skin Types

⊙ Dry Skin

Dry skin is easy to have keratin (dead layered skin on your skin) due to lack of sebum excretion. The most sophisticated skin care with minimum irritation is required for this type of skin. Basic skin care should be provided more carefully due to the skin's sensitivity.

For dry skin, excessive exfoliation will make the skin even drier. Look for the exfoliating product that has minimal irritation to your skin. People with dry skin will have benefits using cleansing cream and cleansing foams that provide sufficient hydration to your skin.

Since it is easier for dry skin to be lack of both moisture and oil in skin especially during fall season when air is the most dry throughout the year, you should strive to keep the balance of oil and moisture in order to prevent your skin from dryness.

Tips for dry skin:
1. Facial massages using convenient facial mask sheets that provide sufficient moisture to your skin. Recommended to use 3 times a week.
2. Use exfoliating products only once a week. Gently massage while applying.
3. Drink a lot of water to keep your body moisturized.
4. Eat cucumbers every day.

⊙ Combination Skin

If you have a combination skin, your skin is healthy and well balanced with moderate amount of sweat and sebum excretions. Since you rarely notice severe skin problems, it is easy to be negligent in skin care for this type.

Be diligent in your daily skin care since people with combination skin can maintain clean and clear skin just with a basic care. But be cautious about your skin during changing seasons because the balance of your skin can be broken during those times. As I mentioned for dry skin, combination skin can be drier during fall. Thus, pay more attention to provide enough moisture to your skin during this time.

Use double cleansing method for washing your face.

Tips for combination skin:
1. Deep cleansing
2. Facial mask sheets recommended to keep your skin moisture. 2 times a week
3. Essence massage using facial masks
4. Homemade facial recipes - cucumber, yogurt etc

⊙ Oily Skin

The most troubled skin type. Oily skin is easy to have skin problems such as breakouts, acne, blackheads and large pores etc due to excessive sweat and sebum secretion. Due to excessive sebum secretion, this type of skin is easy to accumulate impurities and wastes in pores unless thick keratin is removed by exfoliation. Furthermore, if thick keratin blocks the entrance of pores, this will cause acne and pimples. For oily skin, pay extra attention to exfoliating and use the proper cleansing methods. It is very important to manage your pores using oil free cleansing products, foam cleanser and effective exfoliating products to remove keratin. Use a steamed towel to cover your face in order to open up the pores. Then, apply exfoliating products to remove wastes blocking your pores. Carefully manage around the T-zone area where larger pores exist and even more excessive sebum secretion occurs. Make sure to avoid accumulation of thick keratin around the area.

Tips for oily skin:
1. Exfoliating your skin - Remove keratin and maintain clean pores
2. Deep cleansing
3. Facial masks strongly recommended - Helps maintain balance of your skin and keep your skin moisturized.
4. Homemade facial recipes - carrot, egg white etc.

Oily skin, Sebum and Skin Care

Our skin glows with red and becomes slippery even for the short period of outing under the strong UV rays. For every 34 degree F (1℃) increase, sebum secretion increases by 10%. When the amount of sebum secretion increases, the probability of our skin to be exposed to skin problems increases as well. Therefore, we need a systematic know hows to keep skin clean and smooth during summer season.

Why should we pay attention to sebum skin care?

Strong UV rays of July requires not just sunscreen products. We need to resolve excessive sebum secretion that bothers our face throughout the summer. No matter how we carefully put makeup every morning, due to continuously produced sebum mixed with sweats, pores completely filled with sebum are openly revealed sooner. Furthermore, unclear identities that can be acne or pimples appear on different areas of our face and pores look just as ugly as if toothpicks poked our face. In order to resolve all of these seasonal problems, we must devote to thorough cleansing, diligent skin care and post makeup skin care.

Q1 What happens to this slippery face?

As I mentioned above, as the temperature goes up, the amount of sebum secretion increases. Our pores are sensitive to temperature change so for every 34 degree F (1℃) increase, sebum secretion increases by 10%. When sebum is combined with dirt or pollutant in the air, it is oxidized, blocks pores and causes skin troubles. We can always prevent pimples caused by blocked pores if we know how to do sebum skin care.

Sebum and sweats combined skin has a weak resistance against external environment. During summer, pollutants are easily accumulated on our skin and due to increased sebum secretion, our face is sticky and makeup is smudged easily. In addition, our skin is skewed toward alkalinity from sweats, our skin becomes an easy environment for germs to multiply easily. Consequently, diminished resistance ability of our skin cause more skin troubles.

Although the surface of our skin is humid and sticky, inside our skin is dry and rustling. Due to high humidity, sweats and excessive sebum secretion during summer, our skin surface is humid. However, if you are working in an office environment, an air conditioner will evaporate your sweats and take moisture inside your skin so ultimately your skin will become drier and have less elasticity.

Q2 What should we do then?

Point 1: Oil-moisture balanced skin care

If you can keep oil-moisture balanced basic skin care, your sebum management is half successful already. Generally, people with excessive sebum secretion tend to be absorbed in removing sebum. But the prior thing to do is to adjust moisture-oil balance. If your skin lacks moisture, it will produce sebum in order to maintain gloss on your skin so skin surface becomes slippery but inside your skin is dry. First of all, reduce the gap of indoor and outdoor temperatures and lowered indoor temperature by air conditioner should be adjusted. In addition, sweats, frequent cleansing, artificially lowered temperature all makes our skin drier and lower resistance ability. Therefore, provide enough moisture to your skin using toning lotions with moisturizing essence days and nights. Regular use of facial mask sheets is recommended. If you are the person who cannot stand stickiness and use oil papers all the time, this can only break the oil-moisture balance and your skin condition can be worse.

Point 2: Control the environment where sebum secretion is supported

The important point of summer skin care is how much skin temperature to drop. If your skin is exposed to sun for a long period of time, you'll face with increased skin temperature, increased sebum secretion and enlarged pores. The best method for skin care in this case is to open your pores with warm water and remove wastes by cleansing thoroughly with a foam cleansing product then finish with splashing cold water in order to tighten your pores. If you are outside, you can use portable mist and provide cooling effect on your face. Facial mask sheets or cooling masks kept in a refrigerator can help adjust your skin temperature.

Point 3: Pay more attention to pores around your nose where sebum is concentrated

Since blackheads cannot be completely eliminated by one-time method, consistent skin care is required. Many people use their fingers and nails to squeeze out blackheads. If you do that, ugly scars can be remained and the pore walls can be damaged so this will only lead to enlarged pores.

Remove blackheads using light peeling products or packs. When you have a severe blackhead problem, you should consult with a dermatologist. As long as you are devotional to daily thorough cleansing and 2-3 times of deep cleansing (exfoliating skin) and applying facial mask sheets a week, keratin and sebum problems can be eventually improved. I've already said this several times in previous articles. But I will repeat again. While double cleansing your face, open your pores with warm water and remove sebum and other impurities in pores using a foam cleansing product. For deep cleansing, open your pores with a steamed towel (this can soften keratin). For closing, always splash with cold water in order to tighten back opened pores and maintain skin elasticity.

5 Reasons Exercise is Good for the Skin

Part 1: 5 Benefits of Exercise to Our Skin

As I decided to shape my body, two things that I implemented into my daily habits have dramatically changed my life. Two things are, eating healthy and proper exercise. If you expected something special and unusual, I apologize. However, miracle happens from what we already know and this is so true. In this article, I would like to share the good news of exercise and how it can benefit our skin. My next article will focus on how my changed diet has affected my skin.

I tended to be extremely lazy when it comes to exercise. But I have always wanted to be in an excellent shape like a model. I was just not determined or disciplined enough to take into action. For about 10 years, I repeated I "will" start losing weight "tomorrow." You see the problem here. Tomorrow.... Tomorrow never came to me until I had a will to change my life. After 10 years of consecutive failures of bringing actions into life, I finally started on July 9th, 2009. My sole motivation was to be in a great shape with bikini. But I notice now that this new life style also changes my skin.

Today is July 30th. Three weeks passed since I started. I can already see the results of my body trimmed down progressively. (I will post my in progress pictures when I achieve my body goal, hopefully by the end of this year :) ). But I can also see the changes of my skin condition.

The image of exercise is to lose weight only. Not many people realize that a regular exercise involving weight training, cardio and stretching could improve our skin look healthy and youthful along with body change. Then, what doe exercise do to our skin? How can it improve our skin?

5 Benefits of Exercise to Our Skin

1. Benefits to Acne-prone Skin (Anti-Acne)

David Berman, MD, medical director and dermatologic/cosmetic surgeon at the Berman Skin Institute, Palo Alto, Calif., and former chief of dermatology at Santa Clara County Hospital says that "There's a lot of indirect evidence that shows that when you exercise your level of stress diminishes. So your adrenal glands are producing less of these male-type hormones that are part of any acne flare-up." Most of you have probably experienced that when you were extremely stressed out, breakouts appeared on your face. Reduced stress level tends to calm the adrenals, which contributes to acne. Controlled adrenals helps control acne.

2. Benefits to Enlarged Pores (Pore Management)

Both intensive weight training and cardio exercises makes us sweat. Sweating can unclog pores that can lower the probability of appearing breakouts. As I mentioned in the article, "5 Methods and Tips to Reduce Pores", clogged pores are the main reasons for pimples and breakouts.

3. Benefits to Aged Skin & Wrinkled Skin (Anti-Aging)

Did you know that a regular exercise can slow the process of aging of your skin? As we are aged, the fibroblasts, collagen-producing cells, become less in numbers and lazy. As a result, our skin becomes inelastic, wrinkly and saggy. Collagen is the main protein of connective tissue and makes up about 25% to 35% of the whole-body protein content and is directly related to wrinkles, aged skin and fine lines. But people with regular exercise routine have much younger looking. Why is that? Both weight training and cardio (stairs, treadmill, elliptical, cycling, hiking etc) influence natural production of collagen. Exercise also infuses skin cells with oxygen and other nutrients. This greatly promotes the production of collagen. While we haven't thought of exercise as being anti-aging effective, experts agreed that it is effective in slowing the aging of our skin.

4. Benefits to Cellulite (Reducing cellulite)

Well known benefits of weight training and cardio is to reduce cellulite around buttocks, backs of thighs, and upper arms. With less cellulite, your overall body skin will look firmer and tightened. Toning and pulling muscles with weight training and cardio are great ways to reduce cellulite. Let's have a firmer body skin with exercise!

5. Benefits to Skin with Impurities and Toxins (Cleansing Effects)

Our skin is accumulated with toxins from chemicals, dirt, impurities and wastes daily. So it's important to cleanse the proper way for different types of skin as there are far too many that still cleanse incorrectly.

Cardio (aerobic) exercises such as stair climbing, cycling, walking, jogging or elliptical promote blood circulation. Better circulation removes toxins in our skin more effectively. Furthermore, before and after your exercise, it is very important to hydrate your body. Enough water allows your body to have active blood flow, which in turn eliminates impurities and wastes on our skin. I drink 1 cup of water before, 3-4 cups during, and 2 cups of water after the exercise.

I've been exercising for over 3 weeks now. My body has already started changing, and the best part of my changed life style is my much clearer and smooth facial skin. I will get back to you with the benefits of healthy diet to our skin

Wrong Facial Cleansing Methods

I'm lazy and I am not a big fan of makeup.

It does help and the main reason for this is my laziness of removing makeup. As you all know, cleansing is the first step for skin care. Since removing makeup is more important than makeup, women taking care of their skin devote to thorough cleansing every night. Not only removing makeup but accumulated dirt and impurities in and on your skin throughout a day must be removed in order to protect your skin.

Cleansing is this much important. However, watch out for wrong ways while cleansing your face because incorrect cleansing can make your skin even drier and rougher. Now is the time for you to review how you've cleansed your face.

7 Wrong Cleansing Methods

1. "Cleansing is too troublesome" - Loosely cleansing type with no foam!

Cleansing is not to rub your face aggressively with your palms but to use foam. In other words, foam acts like a cushion so it prevent skin irritation that can be done by palms. When cleansing, more and thicker foaming means less irritation and can cleanly cleanse your face. Therefore, after you squeeze out cleansing foam on your palm, take enough time to make foams using your both hands. In addition, even before making these foams, wash your hands first. Cleansing foams made by dirty hands contain wastes.

2. "Longer rubbing massage is always better" - Timing of rubbing your face is too long!

Cleansing products containing oils need 2-3 minutes of massage. But this doesn't mean that more than 3 minutes of massage will make your face more clean. Rather, too much rubbing cause skin irritation and makeup leftovers absorbed by the cleanser might be back to your skin. The best cleansing products are to dissolve makeup quickly, not to curdle with skin and to be easily rinsed off with water.

3. "Hard rubbing makes me feel secure" - Cleansing with rough texture!

Hard rubbing massage in order to eliminate wastes is an old-fashioned idea. Hard rubbing irritates, dehydrates skin, lowers skin elasticity and accelerates the aging of the skin. If you'd like to do deep cleansing, use different methods such as covering your face using a warm steamed towel in order to open your pores and then cleanse impurities in opened pores. If you have severe keratin problems, you may use effectively working exfoliators. (Warning: Avoid the areas of eyes and mouth where skin's stratum corneum is thinner and metabolism rate is lower than other areas of your face) After deep cleansing, make sure to tighten your pores back by splashing with cold water and applying skin toners for oily skin type.

4. "I feel clean wash after wash" - Repetitive cleansing type!

Some people boast about their 5-6 steps of cleansing skin care. But they might be rather harmful to your skin. Cleansing is a process of eliminating wastes on your skin. But the above skin care method may absorb even necessary moisture from your skin. Excessive cleansing cause your skin drier and even more sensitive so avoid several steps of cleansing. Distinguish between point makeup and base makeup. Then using your best cleansing product, double cleansing is the best cleansing method.

5. "I use cold water to prevent pores from getting bigger" - Cold water cleansing type!

I've mentioned in my other articles that splashing with cold water tightens your pores. Some people are too afraid of their pores to become enlarged so they wash with cold water. This is a wrong knowledge. Cold water does not remove impurities on your face. This contributes to more accumulation of wastes and impurities so the consequence is the opposite of what you wanted to prevent. Enlarged pores.... This is why the proper method of cleansing is to use warm water with foam cleanser first.

6. "I use only water for morning cleanse" - Dry skin using only water for morning cleanse!

Our skin is contaminated while sleeping from sebum and impurities in the air. Morning cleanse is the beginning step of taking care of your skin. Thoroughly cleansed face absorbs moisture and makeup more effectively.

7. "I remove makeup right before sleep" - Cleansing right before going to bed type!

The basic of basics is to remove makeup right after coming back home from outside. However, one of the most common excuses we hear every time is that "I am too tired to do that when I get home. I need to rest first and then will do it." Wasn't this your excuse? Delayed cleanse makes your skin more stressful from covered makeup. If you remember your skin condition the next morning when you skipped cleansing the night before, do not skip it from now.

How to Manage Enlarged Pores

Just by observing someone's behavior of looking at mirror, we can tell whether the person concerns about his/her skin. People with no skin problems just look at their overall facial condition. However, people with skin problems draw their face closer to a mirror.

pores_002One of the main reasons of enlarging pores is sebum. Excessive sebum secretion accumulates wastes and impurities in the entrance of pores and sebum secretion becomes inactive and make pores larger. Thus, people with greater amounts of sebum have larger pores. People with Oily skin type tend to have larger pores than people with dry skin.

1. Through cleansing is the basis to manage pores.

The best method to prevent pores from being larger is to make an environment where wastes cannot easily accumulate in pores. In order to do so, through cleansing is the basis. Before washing your face using a foam cleanser, cleanse your face using warm water first then foam cleanse afterward.

2. Cold Packs tightens poresenlarged-tightened-pores

You can use cold packs to tighten your pores. However, if you have a sensitive skin, be careful when using cold packs since these may irritate a capillary. The best way to do this is to soak a cloth or towel in water and keep it in a refrigerator and then apply on your face.

3. Maintain healthy pores with massages

Massages is good for maintaining elastic skin and for preventing pores from enlarging. While washing you face or applying cosmetics, patting your face using fingers is a good massage.

4. Healthy lifestyle for healthy pores

People with beautiful skin tend to maintain balanced life style. First of all, they go to bed early and are early risers. These people have elastic skin with tightened pores because their skin has less tiredness compared to people staying up late or have irregular lifestyles. Less tired skin prevents fine wrinkles, freckles and pores from enlarging. In addition, alcohol and smoke are two greatest enemies against pores. Alcohol and smokes promotes sebum secretion and causes enlarged pores.

5. Pay attention to acne management

Pimples or acnes are symptoms of enlarged pores. Due to pimples and acnes, blackheads and dark spots appear in pores as well. Therefore, stop squeezing out your pimple and go see your doctor or receive a professional treatment. In addition, oriental facial mask sheets are effective in removing blackheads (They are hard to find in the states though).

It is a natural process that our skin becomes inelastic and pores become bigger as we age. Gravity makes our skin sagging and wastes and impurities accumulated during days and nights cause skin problems and help pores enlarge. Although we cannot go against this natural process, we can slow down the aging of the skin by managing our skin with skin cares. The effort to maintain your youth is an expression of loving yourself and valuing yourself.

Face Cleansing for Different Skin Types

Cleansing should be differentiated based on skin types.

Removing makeup is more important than applying makeup. Although you decorated your face with beautiful colors of cosmetic products, if you are negligent in removing makeup, your skin will become dull in a few days. Then, your makeup effort will not make your face glossy and shiny anymore. This important cleansing cannot be done with any kinds of products. This article talks about wise cleansing methods based on your skin type in order to make your skin clean and clear.

Cleansing method differs for different skin types.

Oily skin:

Due to excessive sebum and sweat secretions, this type of skin requires more delicate washing and cleansing because dirt and impurities are more easily attached to oily skin.

How to cleanse for oily skin:
1. Remove makeup using cleansing water or cleansing wipes.
2. Use oil-free type cleansing products to melt down sebum and makeup. Gently push your face with a wipe.
3. Using a foam cleanser, wash your face thoroughly.
4. Deep cleansing is required using exfoliator only 1-2 times a week.

Dry skin:

Due to dehydrated skin, keratin easily appears on the skin. Dry skin can be sensitive and fine wrinkles appear when the skin is too tight.

How to cleanse for dry skin:
1. Less irritant and smooth cleansing lotion should be used to remove makeup.
2. Use gel tyle foam cleanser to wash your face with warm temperature of water.
3. Then splash your face using cold water 4-5 times in order to maintain skin elasticity.
4. After washing your face, moisturize your skin with toner and essence.

Freckles and dark spots:

Eliminating keratin using exfoliator
After removing eye makeup, gently rub your face using cleansing lotion or cream and wipe off with tissue. Then wash off using a foam cleanser.
By using a less irritant exfoliator, you can exfoliate your face and prevent from accumulating keratin and wastes in pores.

How to remove point makeup

Point makeup means eye makeup such as eyeshadow, eye line, mascara and lipsticks etc. Since these point makeup products contain ingredients that can build up skin pigments, your skin around the eyes and mouth can build up melanin pigments unless you cleanse these areas using a proper method.

First, apply eye makeup remover on a cotton ball and put it on your eye. Using a q tips, remove all eye makeups. Do the same for lip makeup. You can easily remove lip makeup after putting a remover applied cottan ball on your lips.

Tips to maximize cleansing effects

1. Cold water has a soothing effect. After washing off using warm water, you can splash with cold water to minimize pores and to increase elasticity.
2. Lukewarm water is good for washing your hands and sweats. But it is not good for removing keratin.
3. Warm water is good for cleansing. Warm temperature is good for washing, blood circulation and removing keratin.
4. Hot water must be avoided for sensitive skin. Although hot water is very good for cleansing and removing keratin, it can decrease your skin elasticity so splash using cold water afterward.
5. Steamed towel is good food for removing keratin so is used before deep cleansing. But you should be careful that if it is used too often, capillaries can be enlarged.

Skin

Dr. Terry Dubrow's wife, Heather Paige Kent, star of the CBS drama That's Life, awoke one morning, appalled. "Terry, look at my face! I've totally broken out. I'm due on the set in three days. Is there anything you can do?"

Of course, Heather knew that her husband, a board-certified plastic surgeon and director of the Acne Clinic of Newport Beach, California, had been working on protocols to cure acne quickly and safely. What she didn't yet know was that he had finally found the answer. The panic she felt was based on her assumption that acne is only partially treatable, if at all.

That assumption is false. This is the truth:

"Using the techniques outlined in this book, acne can be completely eliminated in 95 percent of all cases-even the most severe ones-in 6 weeks or less. These techniques start to work in 24 hours."

In the remaining 5 percent of the cases, the Acne Cure program will generally reduce the severity of acne. Later in the book, we will discuss what additional steps you can take to get rid of the remaining traces of the disease-even the toughest cases.

Wheather you're White, Black, Asian, or Hispanic; whether you're a teenage boy with pimples or a mature man sufferrazor bumps and ingrown beard hairs; whether you're a teenage girl who feels she can't get a date because of her zits, or a woman whose face is disfigured by the blotchy inflammation of severe acne, your condition can be cured.

When we say "cured," we mean that in almost all cases-even the thoughest-the acne cure program we describe in this book will eliminate virtually all blemishes, inflammation, redness, whiteheads, and blackheads within no more than 6 weeks. Milder cases may be resolved in only a few days or even-as in Heather's case-overnight.

Sure, there may be recurrences (although they are unlikely if you stick to the maintenance program), but they too can be rapidly resolved, usually in just a few days.

And if that isn't a cure, we don't know what is!

Some purists argue that getting rid of the symptoms but knowing that in some cases they may return means that this is not a full cure. All we know is that, like hundreds of Dr. Dubrow's other patients, male and female, Heather's acne disappeared. Three days after her skin eruptions, Heather went back to work with a smile on her face and not a blemish in sight.

In the next few chapters, we will describe exactly how the cure works. However, first you have to understand what skin is, how it works, and what you can do to keep it healthy throughout your life.

Not only is healthy skin less likely to be attacked by acne or other skin diseases, but it also looks so much better.

And who doesn't want young-looking, healthy, glowing acne-free skin?
